Experience
Peggy graduated from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) and was awarded the Herbert Smith Freehills Prize and the Graduate’s Award.
She went on to complete her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2017.
Civil Litigation
Peggy is widely recognised for her success in commercial disputes—particularly in construction, trading, company shareholder conflicts, and family-related litigation.
She has acted as lead counsel in several reported decisions, including two matters recently featured in national media which now serve as precedent-setting authorities:
Mont Kiara Defect Lawsuit: Successfully secured a RM500,000 award for expatriate homeowners in a landmark condominium defect case (NST, 8TV).
Industrial Court Precedent: Represented the employer in a rare successful counterclaim against a vexatious litigant, reported in HR News.
In family disputes, Peggy has successfully secured sole custody of children for her clients after contested hearings. In one notable case, the outcome was ultimately resolved in a mutual arrangement that prioritised the best interest of the children, achieving a win-win resolution between both parents.
She is also experienced in debt recovery litigation, having conducted complex multi-year trials and successfully resisted numerous interlocutory challenges including discovery, preliminary objections, summary judgment, striking out, and further and better particulars.
Corporate & Commercial
Peggy regularly advises both domestic and international entities across a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters. Her clientele includes a growing number of infrastructure players such as professional oil and gas, construction, and telecom consultancy industries. She currently acts as legal advisor to over 40 companies in the oil and gas sector and is also retained by developers, engineers, architects, and project consultants within the construction space.
In addition, she provides advisory services to foreign employment agencies in relation to immigration compliance, contractual obligations with foreign workers, and regulatory matters involving employment permits and licences. Her work frequently includes contract drafting, corporate structuring, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, regulatory filings, investment disputes, and negotiation support—delivering practical, legally sound strategies tailored to each industry’s operational realities.
One of her proudest milestones includes securing a bankruptcy annulment for a client and negotiating a favourable global settlement that restructured their debt into a manageable repayment plan—restoring the client’s financial footing and peace of mind
Her media footprint in reported cases has earned her frequent citations across Malaysian legal databases, where she is often instructed for matters involving complex court hearings, including at the appellate levels.
Conveyancing
While the firm’s core strength lies in litigation, Peggy also handles selective conveyancing matters, particularly those intersecting with legacy or procedural difficulties. These often relate to land title and purchase of properties, lands, and yachts, including high-value residential and commercial cases.
Beyond transactional work, she is also experienced in trustee-related conveyancing, including matters involving the substitution and appointment of trustees, and dealings with end offices, the courts, and estate law. Her litigation background provides a significant advantage in navigating layered transactions, rectifying historical mishaps, addressing legacy claims, and advising on risk in both private and corporate conveyancing instructions.
